Cap And Gown season returns.
Jordan Brand will continue its Graduation season-inspired design with the upcoming release of the Air Jordan 13 “Cap and Gown”
First utilized in May 2018 with the Air Jordan 11 “Cap and Gown”, the Cap and Gown look is and all black shoe with patent leather and suede used for the uppers. The Air Jordan 11 was a huge success in the streets, as a total black AJ11 was something that we have wanted since its core release in 1996. Jordan Brand will hope for similar success with the Air Jordan 13 silhouette. However, the AJ13 does things a little opposite than the AJ11 release. The Air Jordan 13 features a patent leather panel towards the top of the shoe, with the suede on the toebox and the bottom of the upper. The black pods are also made of rubber.
This is something we should have expected from Jordan Brand. The AJ11 iteration was too much of a success for JB to ignore and leave alone. The AJ13 does seem like a strange route to go, silhouette wise, but it is an extremely popular and recognizable silhouette, so maybe that’s where JB’s heads are at. The only thing that makes me scratch my head is that we got the Air Jordan 13 “Black Cat” in 2017 (VERRRRYYY UNDERRATED SHOE BTW), which didn’t sell too great, and overall was a very forgettable release. Admit it, you forgot about that shoe unit right now.
The Air Jordan 13 “Cap and Gown” is set to release on May 18th, 2019 at Jordan Brand retailers as well as Nike.com, as well as the SNKRS app. I would expect these to be an easy cop, if your really want it.
