Nothing like a great story being released with a greater sneaker! News has been shared that the Air Jordan 1 High OG Rebellionaire has been slated for a 2022 release. The term “Rebellionaire” pays homage to Nike and Michael Jordan being a rebel for wearing sneakers that didn’t meet the NBA’s standard guidelines at the time and was forced to pay $5,000 each game he wore them in. Despite the astronomical fee, Nike stood behind Michael Jordan and paid the fine every game. The colorway uses particle grey, black, and white with the obvious inspiration of the Air Jordan 1 Shadow. What makes this sneaker more unique is that the pair has a repeating pattern of the phrase “They can’t stop you from wearing them” all throughout the sneaker. This is also not the first time this style pattern has been seen on an Air Jordan 1. In November of 2018, Jordan Brand released the Derek Jeter-inspired Air Jordan 1 “RE2PECT,” which had Derek Jeter’s favorite terms written throughout the sneaker in 3m reflective hits. Pay close attention to this release, so you have more information on how to get these for retail in the future because March of next year is a lot sooner than you think!
