Initially released in 1994, the “Powder Blue” Air Jordan 9s were last seen in stores in 2010. As part of the celebrations for Jordan Brand’s 30th anniversary, the highly coveted “UNC” colorway, which was first released in honor of Michael Jordan’s college alma mater, is returning for 2024. This move is in keeping with the company’s desire to recognize and celebrate MJ’s illustrious past.
The Air Jordan 9, in its retro iteration, will be true to the original. The shoe’s upper is white leather, while the tongue, eyelets, lining, midsole, and heel pull tabs are all colored black. The shoe’s midsole, tongue, emblem, and heel are all a contrasting Powder Blue. The pattern is finished off with a rigid white rubber bottom. The 2024 version of the shoe will differ from the 2010 version in that the #23 embroidery on the heels, included in the 1994 version, will not be present in the 2024 version. The shoe will be available in men’s, grade school, preschool, and toddler sizing.
Expect the Air Jordan 9 Powder Blue to drop at select Jordan Brand shops and Nike.com on board for 2024, as shown in the images below. Retail is set for $210.
