Jayson’s first signature shoe…kinda
Jayson Tatum has become a highlight among all the NBA youngsters around the league since he was drafted in 2017. He soon after signed to Nike has has been tied to some of the best shoes on-court, most notably the Nike Adapt BB. Now Nike will be rewarding Jayson with his own shoe, an Air Max 97 based on his high school.
The shoe features a Red and Black upper, with a print along the mudguard, showing different elements of the game of basketball. Some special branding can be found on the tongue, featuring “Tatum” and “The Duece”.
our thoughts.
We are always in favor of the athlete getting opportunity to build his/her brand. I think this is a great way to test Tatum’s influence. Overall, the shoe’s detailing around the mudguard is super cool. This definitely reminds me of the CR7 Patchwork Air Max 97’s that Nike did. For this shoe, you really have to like Jayson Tatum, meaning, this shoe has no Celtics branding, not even the Celtic Green. So if you’re a big Tatum fan, this is for you
