Nike and Korean streetwear brand Kasina have collaborated on a new Air Max 1. Together, Kasina and Nike are celebrating Kasina’s 25th anniversary and Air Max 1’s 35th anniversary. Two colors of the Kasina x Nike Air Max 1 are set to release. It is made of leather, suede, and pony hair. A flower adorns the small Swoosh lateral toe, the tongue tags contain Kasina branding, and an ice transparent outsole is topped with wooden lace dubraes. The initial edition has a mandarin duck-themed color blocking and includes a duck-shaped hangtag. They are paired together and typically given as wedding presents in Korean culture since it is thought that mandarin ducks (kireogi) mate for life, and if one partner dies, the other will grieve. Therefore, to commemorate their wedding anniversary and the concept of “better together,” Kasina incorporates kireogi and their marriage. You can expect the Kasina x Nike Air Max 1 to be released by Kasina in the summer of 2022. We’ll let you know when there are any changes.
