Nike Sportswear will release a limited-edition Air Max 1 in 2023 to honor the Dia de los Muertos holiday celebrated in Mexico. Day of the Dead celebrates life and death, and the Air Max 1 is a tribute to the bonds that last beyond this world.
The Nike Air Max 1 Dia De Los Muertos comes in a dazzling palette of hues, from Hyper Pink and Sail to Opti Yellow and Green Strike to Blue Lightning and Total Orange. The pink color and mix of mesh, canvas, and leather make up the shoe’s visually attractive base. The toe box, midfoot, and swooshes are all decorated with elaborate flower and sun designs in homage to the traditional embellishments found during Day of the Dead celebrations. There is a purple logo on the tongue labels, and the footwear also has orange insoles and a Sail rubber outsole. The use of these hues and textures creates a fascinating and eye-catching pattern. The shoes also come in a unique box decorated with Dia de los Muertos and Familia motifs.
Expect the Nike Air Max 1 Dia De Los Muertos to drop at select Swoosh Brand shops and Nike.com on October 21st, as shown in the images below. Retail is set for $160.
